Under Canvas Lake Powell - Grand Staircase

Under canvas was a very fun cozy unique experience! One I'm glad we checked out! The tent is nicely decorated and spacious. There was plenty of fire wood, bath products, paper products and battery for our stay. The provide a chargeable nightlight and lamp which are great. The battery pack lasted us a 2 nights stay. We charged our phones and the lights they provided. The water in our shower was interesting as it's cold and warm and hot all in one shower and is on a pull chain which made it difficult. I was not wanting to shave the goose bumps so... and holding the pull chain while rinsing my hair one handed was interesting and challenging, all while in a hurry because the warm/hot water was going to run out soon. This is all understandable, as i knew what i had booked for accommodations and was up for the experience. Just something to note for the next person. Shave before you arrive :) The fire crackle at night was so lovely! The yellow orange glow of the low light was beautiful all around the location. The site was clean and well manicured. You are not allowed to drive your car to your tent but they do offer a ride with all your baggage when you arrive from the parking area. On the way out you are on your own and some tents are quite a walk from the parking area. The service was great, everyone was friendly and attentive. The food and drinks are very over priced and not worth it. Bland food and poorly made cocktails in my opinion. This was a bummer, I had read other reviews that said the food was a highlight of their stay and I personally totally disagree with this. I was very disappointed in the food and would not recommend eating at under canvas and would recommend bringing your own drinks to mix too. The outside seating area at the main tent was beautiful and cozy with hanging lights at night and fire pits. It was beautiful to see the glow of the wall tents and the main lobby tent at night and was a nice place to hangout in the evenings . Oh, side note no wifi but there is a 5g tower right by and cell service was not an issue! Under canvas was a very fun unique experience that I would certainly recommend to someone looking for something different. It's comfortable and cozy! We would love to check out some of the other locations too! Sept. was a great time to see visit Lake Powell!

This was my first time at an Under Canvas location. The tents are beautiful and the surrounding views are very pretty. The staff were exceptional and the food was good. The only problem others should know about is the tent noise from the wind at night. I had one of the worst nights sleep I have ever had due to the flapping of the canvas on the tent ALL night long. I actually wanted to go sleep in my car. We left very early in the morning, so I wrote management about the issue and they were very nice and responsive in saying they would have maintenance look at the issue. I am not sure if this is a maintenance issue or if it's just how the tents are designed. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend staying here due to the tent noise issue.

Stayed for 3 nights. Absolutely stunning location, quiet and dark. Tents were amazing with extremely comfortable beds. I loved having a toilet, sink, and shower inside the tent. It was also wonderful and convenient having a restaurant on-site and the food was very good. Can't say enough about the staff. Every staff person we interacted with was personable, friendly, helpful, and professional. Love that we can bring our dog. We will return.
